Documented in Brian F. Rea, Brian's Booze Guide, 1976 — a mid-1970s creation credited to Brian F. Rea, named for the 1971 film The French Connection, combining equal parts Cognac and Amaretto served over ice in an old-fashioned glass. Listed on the IBA Contemporary Classics cocktail category.
